Warm air and ice on the pipes often means the gas is gone. A refill without a leak check comes back empty. We look first.
Refill vs leak
If the charge leaked out, pumping more in without finding why is a short job that you pay for twice. We check pressures and look for the leak when we can reach it.
We don’t name refrigerants over the internet. On site we use what that split was built for. If the system is shot, we say replacement instead of another charge.
Signs you might be low
Air that never gets cold. Outdoor unit running and indoor blowing warm. Ice on the copper. Call before you keep it on all afternoon.
